Settlement Fund Scams

These scams consist of an individual asking for a set amount for a fee in order to assist an individual or tribe in acquiring the benefits that they are entitled to from a lawsuit. When receiving benefits from a lawsuit, there is no need to pay to receive any of them.

Trust Fund Scams

Since certain tribes have chosen to establish trust funds, there are many scam artists that wish to take advantage of this economic benefit. They do so by taking advantage of a lack of information, and trust in larger institutions to scam tribe members of the money that they are entitled to.
