Scams that target African Americans

Lottery Scams

These scams involved being informed that you have won a lottery ticket that you never purchased and being asked for bank information to deposit the funds. Another version of this scam involves being asked to send money to receive the full amount.

Government Program Scams

These scams consist of informing people of a real (but, misrepresented) government program or an entirely fake government program and will "sign" people up with the goal of obtaining their personal financial information.
